Last week I found myself moderating over a discussion on whether or not it's possible for someone to be successful with both low self-confidence and low self-esteem.
After the discussion I found myself reflecting on the last time my self-confidence and self-esteem were both at a low point, which was actually during the time I spent in the hospital after my injury.
The hospital would have these weekly outings to get people back into the real world after suffering such an accident and I vividly remember not participating in any of the outings the first month I was there. I told myself the reasons for not wanting to do so was because I didn't have the time or was too tired from the daily physical therapy but to be honest that was all just a lie. I was afraid to be seen and concerned myself with the opinions of others. I didn't know it at the time but I was preventing myself from living and if I continued to do so I would never be happy or successful.
Confidence and self esteem are two different things but they go hand in hand if you're looking to obtain both success and happiness. I believe that it's possible to have success with low self esteem but without happiness success means nothing. For example, if you pay any attention to the media and celebrities then you would have came across some celebrity damaging or even killing themselves with drugs because their attempting to fill that hole of emptiness. They're not happy and everything they worked so hard for is then taken away.
See the thing is people with confidence attempt to work hard and achieve all they can in hopes of fixing their internal problems. They're afraid of the opinions of others and they're afraid to fail. In the end those setbacks destroy them.
People with confidence and high self esteem not only achieve success and happiness but they also maintain it. They're not afraid to take chances or fail. They believe in themselves and because of that they grow from each experience.
My advice to you is to believe in yourself and all that you do. If you're interested in tips on how to break the barriers from within subscribe for next week ebook "Invisible Fortress".
